Frequently Asked Questions
All Alu-Guard products carry a 7 year warranty.
Perforated mesh is made from 1.6mm aluminium that has round circular holes, whereas stainless-steel mesh is made from a woven strand with square holes. Whilst perforated mesh might not have as good visibility as stainless-steel mesh, it is however, more rigid and has less flex than stainless steel mesh.
Use clean, warm water mixed with a mild detergent and soft bristled brush to gently wash your Alu-Guard products. Rinse well with clean water and ensure all residue is removed.
Alu-Guard carries a fire rating of BAL29.
The mesh on Alu-Guard is available in black only. The door frame, however, comes in several standard colours and can be powder-coated in any other colour or matched to resemble a timber-look finish.
Alu-Guard is a certified system that when fitted with a three-point lock passes the Australian Standard AS5039/5041 – a test designed to simulate an attack. Included in this test are a Knife Shear Test, Dynamic Impact Test, Anti-Jemmy Test, and Pull Test.
