Paulownia timber is resistant to disease and has a combustion temperature that is almost double to that of many conventional hard and soft woods. Are timber shutters good at blocking out light?

Timber shutters are suitable for bedrooms and will block out most light, with only tiny slivers of light visible between each louvre. For complete room darkening, however, we would not recommend plantation shutters.

Are timber shutters safe for little children?

Yes, very much so! As there are no cords or chains with shutters this makes them one of the safest and sturdiest of window furnishings to select from.

Can timber shutters be motorised?

No, unfortunately we don’t offer motorisation on our plantation shutters.

Are timber shutters easy to clean?

Yes, timber shutters are easy to clean. Simply wipe the louvres with a damp cloth to remove dust and marks.

Can timber shutters be installed in bathrooms?

No, unfortunately timber shutters are not suitable for wet areas such as bathrooms. Polymer shutters are a suitable alternative.

Are timber shutters easy to operate?

Yes, timber shutters are easy to operate. Simply tilt the louvres to control the amount of light that is let in or use the hinges to open the shutter panel fully to access the window. Shutters can also be configured as bi-folding and sliding, both of which that are easy to operate.

Do timber shutters come with a warranty?

Yes, our timber shutters come with a 5 year warranty.

Do you repair timber shutters?

Yes, we do offer repairs and servicing to timber shutters. Some of these services include replacing louvres, louvre pins and tilt bars.

Are timber shutters good at insulating?

Yes, timber shutters offer some of the best insulation qualities available.
